Fashion Photography-----Lighting techniques

During class last tuesday, we went into the studio and set up some lighting equipment, put a white back drop down, got a volunteer to model for us and started shooting to see what it would be like to blow out the white backround. I really like it, it makes for a clean crisp picture. This is one of the techniques clothing magazines use. Check it out :) It was alot of fun. I love the studio and cant wait to someday hopefully have one of my own :)

First off I just have to say how lucky I am to be married to a man who loved me when I was 14, and here we are 10 years later still in love more than we were before. I really admire the man he is! and feel so greatful that I get to wake up to him everyday of the rest of my life....
Saturday I worked, and while I was at work, working in the lobby, the proflower lady came in with a huge green box. I said to my coworker " gee I wonder who go flowers this time." kinda in monotone voice because they had been coming all day! and to my suprise it said: MARIE EGGEN
I was in shock kinda because I've always told Erik not to buy me flowers because I think its a waste of money, and they just DIE! lol but I think I just said that in the past erik was in school, and we had a baby and I was barely working and well the truth is we were SO dirt FREAKIN poor! hahah and I didnt want him to feel bad.... but we always made those days special by the simple things and thats what I love most! But I have to admit it felt pretty dang good to get those flowers :) I think I had a smile on my face all day long!
After work we dressed livy up cute and took her to the park to play. and wow did she have a blast. When I go into her bedroom to wake her up in the morning, I kid you not, I shake her a little to wake her, one eye opens slightly and she smiles and the first words out of her mouth are "Paark, Sllllide" haha the park is what she dreams about at night, so this was alot of fun for her!
Then we went to Lucilles BBQ. Its the best BBQ in the sac area, yumm that was good!! and the day ended with a hefty bill and 3 full tummys :) and it was so nice to be able to do that this valentines day! we had a special time together as a family :)

I had so much fun taking pics of these girls while I was back in my home town of Crescent City :) I was able to do 4 photoshoots....and I would of been able to do more butttt ofcourse it started to rain and storm so those will have to wait for next time :)

I love this family.... and My face hurts from the Icey cold weather, and from lauphing my butt off at this shoot :)Their boys are hillarious, and so cute! seriously tho, arent they just a gorgeous family!! One of my teachers told me to try and shot in Raw. He said thats all he ever shoots in, because he loves the amount of control you have while editing the picture in photoshop. and I have to say. I LOVE it! Yes I better go to ritz right now and get me a bigger SD card, because shooting Raw pictures are 5x's larger than JPEG. But wow. Im hooked! here are a few!

Grandma I miss you!

In the clear of the night, driving through clear lake( as we were going back to sac from being in Crescent City for my grandmas memorial service) it hit me, My last grandparent is now gone. Tears stream down my face....My thoughts took me back to a day when I was getting home from school. My mom was driving her tan Ford Explorer, pulling into my drive way as I sat in the back seat. Seeing my grandmas face as she planted flowers in the round-about of our drive way. She was planting the most beautiful flowers. She stood up and watched as my mom drove up with us kids in the car. I still remember her face. I still can see her smile. I still can feel her hug that day. That clear memory is one I will hold onto for the rest of my life. And I know when I want to talk to my grandma all I need to do is go to the beach and she will be there! The brightness of the sun will always make me feel the warmth of my grandmas love!

We got our family photos done on saturday by my old roomate Janea @ Rightanglephoto.net ---SHE is an AMAZING photographer, and I enjoy talking to her and getting to know more about the business...she has helped me out alot and I apprechiate it so much, I know I can go to her for any advice and she so freely gives it! Editing in Photoshop

I just got photoshop, and I am loving learning how to use it...Everyday I get so excited to try and fix up my photos, today I mostly learned how to enhance eyes, and how to airbrush. Ill post some new pictures up soon :) Hope everyone had a happy halloween!!

Kristin and Ezra {Maternity}

This is my beautiful sister in law Kristin, and her hubby Ezra. They are going to be having a sweet baby boy. I cant wait to meet him...he's going to be such a handsome little guy. I mean with parents like these two, he has no choice. right? They are just gorgeous.

Ezra is hilliarious, he really made this shoot fun. I was cracking up 90% of the time, and so was Kristin, from his funny faces :) what a fun couple they are.

Ashlynn's maternity session was so much fun. She was ADORABLE as you can see in all these photos. I can tell shes loves being prego. Shes one of those moms that truely enjoys the beauty of whats happening inside of her and what her body is doing as her baby grows.
I love the pictures of her almost nude, in black and white. They are so pure and so clean. I couldnt believe how well they turned out....We really captured such a wonderful moment in time that I hope she will always remember and cherish. Motherhood is beautiful, and you can really see the beauty of it in these photos. She should be on a magazine for motherhood doncha think? wow! amazing!! thanks ash...:)

Baby Elise

My old roomate Angie and her sweet baby girl, Elise came to visit Olivia and I today. It was alot of fun to catch up with her and see her again. I missed her alot! I was able to do a little mini session with Elise and she was such a good girl. I got a few shots I really loved. This baby girl has the longest eye lashes. I mean crazy long and dark they are beautiful! Shes beautiful! take a look at the pictures......
